Medical Qualifications
Mr Marios Papadopoulos graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Bachelor of Arts, 1st class honours and went on to attend the University of Oxford where he completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree in 1993. Mr Papadopoulos also completed a Master’s degree at the University of Cambridge in 1997. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1998 and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Neurosurgery) in 2002. He completed further specialist training in Neurosurgery in 2005.
Medical Experience
Mr Papadopoulos is a member of the Medical Defence Union, the Society of British Neurological Surgeons and the British Medical Association. He is also a member of the Academic Committee of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons and conducts a number of international neurosurgical research trials including research into novel treatments for spinal cord injury. He has published a number of research papers particularly on the role of aquaporins in brain and spinal pathologies.
Mr Papadopoulos is a Reader in Neurosurgery at St George’s, University of London and is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at St George's Hospital. He is available for private patients at the Parkside and Lister Hospitals, London.
He has a particular clinical interest in general neurosurgery, spinal neurosurgery, brain tumours, vascular neurosurgery and peripheral nerve surgery.
