Medical Qualifications
Dr Anthony Chow qualified from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London before going on to complete specialist training at St Mary’s Hospital, London, amongst others. He has received Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians.
Medical Experience and Training
Dr Chow specialises in heart arrhythmias (cardiac rhythm disorders), heart failure and complex cardiac devices and holds a number of industry-related and British Heart Foundation research grants. He has a special clinical interest in cardiac electrophysiology, complex cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators to treat heart rhythm disorders and prevent heart failure.
Dr Chow is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Wellington Hospital, North London and a Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London Hospital where he runs one of the busiest clinical cardiac rhythm management and research departments in the UK.

Cardiac rhythm abnormalities - symptoms and treatment options
There are many different classifications of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias), some are serious and some benign. Some arrhythmias are only found incidentally without the patient being aware of them, but in the majority of cases they cause severe symptoms of palpitations (a sense that the heart is beating abnormally and uncomfortably), breathlessness, occasionally chest pains, dizziness and even blackouts.
