Medical qualifications
Mr Bhattacharyya qualified with distinction from Bombay in 1988 and completed his Masters in Surgery with the Best Resident award in 1991. His subsequent higher surgical training has been at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, The Middlesex Hospital (UCL) and St George’s Hospital in London. Mr Bhattacharyya was awarded the Royal College Travelling Fellowship & TWJ Fellowship for Voice and Otological training.
Medical Experience and Training
He is a founder faculty member on the Phonosurgery Course at the Institute of Laryngology and Otology. He was appointed as a consultant at Whipps Cross University Hospital in 1997 and is the Associate Director of Medical Education. He is the regional Otologist & Voice specialist for North East London & Essex. Mr Bhattacharyya works privately at Spire Roding Hospital and Holly House Hospital.

Voice disorders: an overview
Voice disorders range from a simple case of laryngitis that usually resolves spontaneously to more sinister physical or organic conditions, such as laryngeal malignancy. The main symptom for people with voice disorders is hoarseness or dysphonia, which describes an alteration in voice quality.
